NEW KAWASAKI TRIMMER CUTS BOTH FUEL USE AND EMISSIONS

KTF27A/AC offers a broad list of professional grade features.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.—The newest string trimmer from Kawasaki, the KTF27A (KTF27AC-Calif. model), cuts fuel consumption up to 25 percent compared to the TJ027D engine used on previous models. It also reduces exhaust emissions to meet the toughest EPA and CARB requirements, and features a newly designed guard and a new gear-reduction drive head that increases cutter head torque for faster trimming.

The KTF27A’s new 26.3cc TJ027E Kawasaki engine delivers more torque to the cutter head for faster, cleaner cutting and trimming. “This powerful engine develops higher rpm levels for a better trimming job, and the new gear reduction drive head minimizes the chance of clutch failure,” says Brian O’Neil, Kawasaki product specialist.

The TJ027E is engineered with a “stratified” two-barrel carburetor design that buffers in fresh air between the outgoing exhaust and the incoming air/fuel mixture. The design cuts the amount of unburned fuel in the exhaust and delivers a fuel savings of up to 25 percent. The catalyst exhaust system further reduces emissions for a cleaner environment. The engine also is equipped with an enrichment starting system instead of the typical choke, which eliminates the chance of flooding the engine when starting.

Featuring a flexible cable drive shaft, the KTF27A comes with an ergonomically designed cutter guard. “This new string trimmer features low noise, low vibration, and overall lightweight design that gives commercial landscapers a durable, productive tool that can be operated all day without causing undue fatigue,” says O’Neil.

While professionals will find these features a significant benefit for in-field operations, many homeowners will also recognize the value of using a professional grade trimmer that has been designed by Kawasaki engineers and undergone the rigorous testing that makes it suitable for commercial use.

The KTF27A features Kawasaki’s “Leading Edge” warranty, which covers commercial use for two years and consumer use for five years. This warranty also includes lifetime drive shaft and electronic ignition module protection. Buyers have a 10-day money back guarantee on all Kawasaki handheld power products.
